Thunder Ridge Nature Arena: An entertainment oasis in the wilderness

RIDGEDALE, Mo. – In the heart of the Ozarks, surrounded by Table Rock Lake and dense forests, lies the Thunder Ridge Nature Arena. This new venue, envisioned by Johnny Morrisfounder of Bass Pro Shops, is set to become a unique destination that harmonizes nature with entertainment.

Nestled in the serene wilderness of Ridgedale, Missouri, Thunder Ridge stands out for its state-of-the-art facilities but also for its setting.

“We have properties all over the globe, but there’s nothing quite like this,” said Tim Jorgensen, Regional Vice President for ASM Global’s Stadiums, Arenas, and Theaters Division. He said that the arena is surrounded by natural beauty, offering a picturesque and serene environment which is unlike any other venue.

This location provides a view but also ensures that noise levels are managed naturally, without disturbing the surrounding area.

With its 18,500 to 20,000 seating capacity, the Thunder Ridge Nature Arena can accommodate a variety of events, including major concerts, monster truck rallies, rodeos, and more.

“You can really do so many things with it,” Jorgensen explained. He said that the versatility of this arena, set against such a natural backdrop, makes it truly special.

One of the most distinctive features of Thunder Ridge is its commitment to conservation. Every dollar generated by the venue supports conservation efforts, making it an entertainment venue with a purpose. Even local nonprofit organizations staff the arena’s food and beverage operations.

For artists, Thunder Ridge offers a unique retreat. “Morgan Wallen could literally go off stage and jump in a boat and go fishing,” Jorgensen said.

The grand opening of Thunder Ridge is scheduled for May 25th, featuring a performance by Morgan Wallen. A sneak preview concert for conservation is set for May 21st, with acts including Christian, John Anderson, the Petersons, Clay Self Trio, and the Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

Jorgensen said that it’s a $10 ticket for a night of great music and a preview of what’s to come.

Morris’s vision for Thunder Ridge was aimed to create a world-class destination that celebrates the natural beauty of the Ozarks while supporting conservation.

“It’s a musical postcard from Mother Nature,” Jorgensen said. Either from the experience of the event, or the environment, Jorgensen said that those who attend are going to have such a great experience.
